Employment Opportunities

 

         Wishwell Farms employees around 35 part-time workers during June for strawberry season, and needs about 20-25 workers for the remainder of the season.   In the fall when school resumes, we need about 10-12 employees that are still available to work.  Positions available each season include:

  • Strawberry season only
  • Greenhouse tomato workers
  • General farm work (planting, weeding and harvesting)
  • Sales at Farmers’ Markets
  • Fall harvest and end of season clean up

Positions at Wishwell Farms Produce

  1. Harvesting/weeding/packing of all fruits and vegetables (May 25-Oct. 15)
    • Strawberries, Peas
    • Raspberries, Green Beans
    • Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Brussels Sprouts
    • Zucchini, Cucumbers, Yellow Squash, Eggplant, Peppers
    • Sweet Corn, Cantaloupe, Watermelon
    • Pumpkins, Indian Corn, Gourds, Winter Squash
  2. Preseason seeding, laying plastic and drip tape, and planting (April & May)
  3. Greenhouse tomatoes-prune, clip, lean and lower, harvest, and pack (May-Nov.)
  4. Sales at Saturday Farmers’ Markets (May-Oct.)
  5. Sales at daily markets in Marysville and Columbus (June-Sept.)
  6. Sales at home market (May-Oct.)
  7. Late summer and fall harvest and sales (Aug. 15-Oct. 15)
  8. Late fall harvest and farm cleanup (Oct. 15-Nov. 15)
